4. Elective credits to reach a minimum of 34 biology credits. These may include additional biology courses as well as Chemistry 365 (Biochemistry), Water 387 (Aquatic Insects), Water 481 (Limnology), Water 483 (Limnological Methods).
Collateral course requirements.
1. One year of inorganic chemistry:
Chemistry 105 and 106, 10 credits or Chemistry 115 and 116, 9 credits
2. One of the following mathematics courses:
Math 111, Applied Calculus, 4 credits
Math 120, Analytical Geometry and Calculus, 4 credits
Math 355, Statistics, 4 credits
Other important notes.
1. It is recommended (but not required) that at least one of the two required GDR writing emphasis (WE) courses be in natural science (astronomy, biology, chemistry, geography, geology, physics, CNR).
2. Only courses that are part of the biology major will count toward the minimum of 34 credits for the major.
3. Students that have completed the Treehaven or European Environmental Curriculum are exempted from the Biology 306 requirement, HOWEVER -the Treehaven or EEC courses DO NOT count towards the 34 required biology credits NOR do they count towards the required biology GPA (2.50).
4. The cumulative GPA for all courses. biologv and collateral. must be at least 2.50
5. FOR BIOLOGY EDUCATION MAJORS the cumulative GPA for all courses, biology and collateral, must be at least 2.75.
